Pix-Star is designed to work automatically so it can be easily used by anyone, even those without “digital expertise”.

If you go to the “settings” menu, then select the “system info” sub-menu, you can choose between 3 different options or modes to receive photo mail on your Pix-Star . By default your frame is configured in “manual mode”, which means a sound is played and a small envelope icon displays on the top right of the screen when a photo mail arrives. Pix-Star then waits for you to press the “open inbox” key on the remote control, which will open the photo mail inbox.

In addition to this mode, you can choose between 2 other modes. One is called “automatic mode” and the other is the “information mode”. When in automatic mode, your Pix-Star will automatically accept any incoming photo mail and place the picture in the default “inbox” slide show. There is NO notification to the user and ALL incoming photo mails are accepted.

The “information mode” is similar to the “automatic mode” except that a sound is played, the photo mail opens AUTOMATICALLY and displays the picture for 10 seconds before automatically accepting it. During the 10-second period, if the user is next to the frame, he/she can choose to REFUSE the photo mail (same as “manual mode”).

The information mode is ideal for people who do not want things to get too complicated. It is particularly suitable if the frame is being used by someone without a strong ability to manipulate electronic devices. You can then ensure all pictures received by the device are automatically added to the default slide show.
